"Amazing, the photos do not do it justice, lovely cosy cottage a home from home and fully equipped. Great location, short walk to village incl pubs and chippy, also access to walks (which pass through livestick fields so dogs on leads). Grizedale forest was a short drive away with really good (long & short) walks, better for dogs off leads. "

"The hotels location is perfect, right in the centre of town. Staff are brilliant, professional and friendly. Didn't use the pool as was too hot in there, but another time maybe. They were having problems with the boiler but well handled by reception. Oh I can't forget the Cheese Souffle!!! It was amazing!!"

"A character-full period property in an impressive setting, with parking space provided. Everything was clean and tidy.The breakfast room has some great views of the surrounding landscape. "All the staff, especially those in the bar/restaurant area were excellent. They were very accommodating, warm and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Food was very good and reasonably priced. "Lovely room with lakeside view; beware it is uphill to walk up to the Lakehouse, this didn't bother us however. Easy to check in at the Waterhead Inn which is just accross the road. Breakfast was your standard fare but tasty. Helpful staff. Stayed 2 nights."

"Excellent place. We stayed in room 40 in the annexe for families. It has a big and comfortable main bed and bunk beds for kids. Clean and airy, very large room for family with great size bathroom. Pub food was excellent we had the chicken for dinner with wine all good, and sticky toffee pudding was generous size two could share. Overall a great place and convenient close to grasmere, Ambleside and the zip World. Great stay very pleased."
