"We recently stayed at The Ocean View Hotel from 13th–15th February and unfortunately were very disappointed with our experience. We chose this hotel specifically because of the facilities advertised on the website, including a swimming pool, bar, coffee shop, evening dining, jazz club with cocktail bar, and the daily “Happy Hour” promotion. These amenities were a major factor in booking what we hoped would be a relaxing weekend break. However, on arrival—and throughout our stay—we discovered...

"Logistically superb - lots of walks, beach, at low tide you can go rock pooling etc. Bus stop right outside - which when the weather isn't great is a useful option to get around. There are small bus routes that loop certain areas - and you get a running commentary so worth jumping on. Hotel is fabulous - views are amazing, food is delicious, and good value, room were exceptional (you must like the sound of the sea) and the staff are kind, informative and go above and beyond. "

"Small arcade, lake, clubhouse, indoor and outdoor pools, and playground on site. Check on their website for details about when certain facilities open - we’ve been a number of times and there’s a much wider variety in the Summer. But still enjoyable throughout the year. "

"Breakfast was very good with lots of choice . Room was fine but TV quite big for the size of the room. Shower very small. Lovely decor and bar staff and waitress very helpful. Nice being able to use the sauna. Pool and hot tub not yet in use "

"Got transfwred to spitbank fort for no extra cost , it small with not much to do but a great pla e recommend one night stay rather than our two night as spitbabk is much smaller"

"Wonderful stay, everything was great, especially the hot tub, which we really enjoyed. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything needed. We stayed 3 nights and had an amazing experience overall. Vanessa at the reception was very nice and helpful and guided us well. The only small point was the pool hours until 5 PM, which we wish it had been open longer."

"The hotel doesn’t have a dedicated free parking space. However, you have parking in front of the hotel (on the beach road) which is a paid parking."

"Mum had a nice stay at this pet friendly hotel, the dog enjoyed his trip, too!"

"Unfortunately the room requested was not available as we had our small dog with us so were allocated a dog friendly room which was fine but it only had a 4’6 bed which really is not expected these days. Following the downgrading of the room by the hotel and being advised that the room requested would be cheaper. The new price unfortunately was not honoured despite numerous requests for a refund so overall not the best experience."

"Reported toilet not flushing before we went out for dinner, staff said they would fix it while we were out, come back not fixed had to phone again they tried again unsuccessfully and only then offered different room this was 9 o'clock in the evening. Think this could have been handled net"

"On arrival our room was upgraded to a large seaview room with a walk in shower which was a very nice welcome. The Pump room bar is excellent with a cozy atmosphere. The staff are friendly and attentive. The food both at breakfast and in the evening venues is top notch. Dining is a particular highlight which should not be missed with a very good menu expertly prepared and served to a really high standard. "
