"Beautiful 18th Century pub in quiet village location. Taken to room, lovely decor, big bed, bathroom was a little tired. Shower had no hot water when I tried at 4.30pm, thankfully had some the following morning. Had a wonderful night sleep, a shame some kind of breakfast is not included in the price. Welcoming staff and lovely locals. Would I stay again, yes. "

"Firstly, All rooms need Air Conditioning units throughout because this week’s weather from Monday to yesterday was hot and an electrical fan in our room was inappropriate and non-starter. Please ensure Sudbury Hotel understands. Secondly, their duvet was too much for hot weather so they need to invest in thin togs for Summer and keep the thicker togs for Autumn and Winter months. "Stayed for one night, which happened to be the hottest night of the year. Not the hotels fault, but the window in the room would not open. Hotel did supply fans but made little difference. Major issue was after a night in a 30 degree room there was no water for a shower, or the toilet. Spoke to manager who was stressed but apologetic who said the mains were off due to an issue which he hoped would be fixed at some point…. "This is a hidden gem. It's a charming old manor house with very comfortable rooms and lovely food. The staff can't do enough for you and are extremely helpful. It's set in its own grounds, completely hidden from the road with no noise apart from birdsong and the whispering of the trees."

"The historic building is simply beautiful, very charming, and well-restored. The room was spacious, and the bathroom was well-equipped. The service in the restaurant was very friendly but extremely slow. The food was rather mediocre. Breakfast was actually quite poor. There was barely a tablespoon of yogurt with the granola, and the toast was cold and hard like rusk. The location itself is beautiful."

"I had a great stay at the hotel for a wedding. The room was huge and the beautifully designed. I really liked the various lighting and the room had lots of mirrors. Staff were great and friendly; I asked for green tea teabags and staff bought them to my room quickly."

"Breakfast is very good - buy it at reception it is cheaper. The choice and freshness is excellent. Probably the only budget chain that offers guacamole! The sausages and bacon are better quality than a Premier Inn If arriving late at night, the walk from the car park is pretty horrible. Staff were really friendly and great pub to enjoy a drink or eat in. Comfortable, quiet and extremely relaxing with added bonus of bath and sash windows which opened to look out at the front of the property. PERFECT!!"
