"A very large dated hotel undergoing refurbishment whilst still functioning for business. Town centre location and busy. A good menu with quick service. The downside of our stay was the location of our bedroom immediately below the boiler system. The noise became unbearable when trying to sleep on a warm night. This was resolved by a lovely lady on night reception duty who relocated us to a much quieter and cooler room. Good breakfast selection with very fast service."

"The Garden wing is uninspiring upon arrival but inside is first class for quality and cleanliness. Room and en suite nicely furnished and laid out. Not a big room so, with the extremely high temperatures during our stay, became very warm. No aircon but a fan was already in situ. The main building was lovely and cool with doors open for through draughts and aircon in the restaurant. The grounds were excellent for walking and the gardens have great potential. Good quality food. Service good throughout - especially considering a wedding celebration was being hosted. Disappointed that disabled bays were occupied by a works van and two cars - none of which were displaying blue badges. Shouldn't be difficult to monitor as car reg is input on arrival."

"I had a very nice stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff was friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist with a smile. The location was convenient, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing and pleasant. I especially enjoyed the excellent service and delicious food. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay."

"Beautiful 18th Century pub in quiet village location. Taken to room, lovely decor, big bed, bathroom was a little tired. Shower had no hot water when I tried at 4.30pm, thankfully had some the following morning. Had a wonderful night sleep, a shame some kind of breakfast is not included in the price. Welcoming staff and lovely locals. Would I stay again, yes. "
