"This hotel needs a complete overhaul- very dated, tiny rooms, short of staff and poorly trained when they do turn up. Bedroom over crowded with furniture so you literally have to climb over things to move around- windows don't open, tv doesn't work- very expensive for the quality provided"

"Original grand building in a pleasant location. Poor value for money. Reluctant to check in early, despite agreed that we could to be able to attend a wedding on time. Disappointing view from Room 7 and 8 even though booking was made 7 months earlier. When this was mentioned to the staff at reception, we were told we had not paid extra for the view. The staff members in the dining room were very helpful and friendly."

"Advertised as air conditioned rooms but air-conditioning not functioning at all with a dangerous looking wire hanging from the ceiling. I left the hotel as the room was too hot to sleep in and I was told I would get a full refund if I applied through Expedia. I have done this and Expedia tell me the can’t get through to the hotel to approve the refund."

"On arrival, we checked in and started to unpack. We noticed that parts of the room were dusty. As we looked closer we noticed that our room was layered in dust that had obviously been there longer than a week nevermind a day. The headboards were covered and you could visibly see the colour difference on the carpet where the duty was lying. "We were able to check in early with a payment of 79 pounds but the room was not what we paid for. Some of the furniture was broken. The reception was unattended for a while. The food in the restaurant was fine and the breakfast was full English from 6 am which is great when catching an early flight.
