"Very friendly staff"

"It was a very unique experience. They were agreeable, and when language was a barrier, even those who didn't know English, they were fluent enough to understand what you were saying and what you wanted/needed and delivered promptly. While I did attempt to use my limited Japanese, it was just that, limited. Whenever I'm in Kyoto again, I would likely come back to this Inn."

"I absolutely loved this ryokan--it was the wonderful Japanese experience I hoped for--futons, slippers, kimonos, tatami mats!! The dining was exceptional--many unique, artistically presented small plates; overlooking a lovely garden; tatami mats at low tables (although there were other options).
