Its a wonderful building with very pleasant staff. Limited food options, but many local places to eat. Rooms are lovely, with lots of space. Road noise can be an issue, but wasnt for me.

Areca Hotel was delightful, full of character, so much nicer than the high rise hotels we have been staying in so far on this trip. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, not only with a welcome drink, but an invitation to afternoon tea each afternoon of our stay. The room was small, but adequate and freshened every day inclcluding clean towels etc.

The hotel is a tranquil oasis in busy George Town. The building is elegant and the interior of the hotel is tastefully styled. Overall it was very comfortable for our 5 night stay. Best of all is the team of staff who attended us through our stay. They are very friendly, helpful and attentive. I highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is located in the city center. You can totally walk from one place to another within minutes. You can also find lots of food stalls with reasonable pricing around the city.

Very good hotel - excellent staff and location.

Great stay, good location and really comfy. Would recommend!

Polite service

Friendly Staff Room - clean and spacious

Great room, excellent location for walking.

Our favourite accommodation from our trip in Malaysia and Singapore. Excellent customer service from start to finish, daily housekeeping and replenishment of water, toiletries etc. Our apartment was very spacious, clean and comfortable, great AC, fantastic shower, use of washing machine. Although the hotel is right next to a fairly busy, but small road, later on at night the noise is no issue whatsoever and as a light sleeper I had no trouble sleeping! Would highly recommend, good value for...

Clean, comfortable and spacious too. Staff were attentive and pleasant. The Nasi Kandar, Deen Maju which is just a few doors away is really good but always crowded. With the hotel card, you need not queue up. Just take note that the restaurant staff are not so friendly. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

ok

Fantastic view over the sea and condos along gurney drive. Nice location, short walk to Paragon and Gurney malls. Attractions are only 5 minutes away- Burmese and Thai temples. Host has been friendly and understanding of our needs. Rooms and washrooms are clean. We strongly recommend this apartment for short holidays in lovely Penang.

We stayed here for a week, the hotel is great! Lots of activities for adults and children to do and bring everyone together. The hotel is opposite a few restaurants and mcdonalds, if you come out and turn right there is a long 3 mile stretch of night markets and street food stalls! It is in a great location!
