"Staff are amazing"

"I keep telling myself it’s cheap and cheerful, and it is to some degree.. but it has a 4* sign as you drive in, and this just isn’t the case. Rooms are run down and have needed upgrading for years. The swimming pool has been “ under maintenance” on the 3 occasions I have stayed over the years, so I just question whether it is ever open. The carpets needed hoovering in the hallways and our room. "Unwashed cup in the room and empty shampoo dispencer. Pool closed for this "spa weakend." Hotel unable to provide a cooked breakfast and reluctant to offer a rebate. Premises dirty and staff surly. Bar service poor and prolonged delays in the dining room in spite of pre-ordered food. Far from the expected standard of a 4star establishment"

"I highly recommend this hotel. Very friendly and professional staff. Every member of staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. An excellent choice of breakfasts included in the price. The restaurant was excellent in the evenings. The location is fantastic with wonderful views of the beautiful Peak countryside."

"The room was lovely,clean and comfortable.The provision of a fan was much needed and made the night bearable in the heat. Breakfast was excellent,food freshly cooked and plentiful and the usual range of cereals, fruit and pastries. Lunch was delicious, again food was tasty but we were a party of 12,a pre- booked celebration , and some of us had almost finished our main course by the time other main courses had arrived and one person had to send their food back to be reheated.
