We were not made aware during booking that our reservation was being fulfilled through Zelloo/private management rather than the hotel directly, which meant we were denied hotel amenities and services we reasonably believed were included. Upon arrival, our 20th-floor room had no functioning toilet. We immediately reported it, were initially told to use a plunger ourselves, and were later asked to send a video. After nearly EIGHT HOURS without resolution—requiring us to repeatedly use the lobby restroom—we were forced to repack and relocate close to midnight, losing our entire first evening of vacation. The replacement room then had ROACHES throughout it and no telephone to contact the front desk or valet. Additionally, despite paying $41/day for parking, the garage was full Friday and Saturday, forcing us to find parking elsewhere.

I love staying at the Ala Moana Hotel for its cleanliness, convenience and wonderful customer service. This stay was a little different because I was occupying a room at the hotel, but the room itself is managed by a separate entity. Normally, I stay in a room that is managed by the hotel property. Check in was the same, valet was the same, utilizing the restaurants and shops were the same, convenient location was the same. However, what visitors need to know are the differences. There is no daily housekeeping. Even though a good number of towel sets are provided, if they need extra, they will be charged $30 per set. Toiletries are limited. I was given trial sizes of one conditioning shampoo, one body lotion and one very small bar of soap. No soap or body gel/wash. If there is something wrong in the room, visitors cannot call the front desk for help. They need to contact the company/agency that they made the reservation through and that company will contact the management group to report any issues. Even though there are some slight inconveniences, I still enjoyed my stay.

Got ta love Ala Moana.

We travel inter Island several times a year and enjoy not only the accommodations but the access to Ala Moana shopping center as well. Makes our regular medical trips so much more enjoyable.

Location is perfect for Attending Shinnyo Lantern Floating Hawaii. It’s an Easy walk to Magic Island/Ala Moana Beach. Ala Moana Center Mall, Hawaii Convention Center, and Don Quixote Super Market. It’s an enormous Hotel,60+ Years old and well maintained.

The room was clean and better than we expected. A great view and we got to enjoy the fireworks show which was welcomed surprise! We enjoyed being able to walk to the mall which was so convenient. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again!

Third time

1901 is near the elevators, but the convenience of the short distance and some of the fastest elevators in existence outweigh the distraction of the elevator noise. This is our third time on the property, and we enjoy the convenience of the location to the center and nearby restaurants.
