"The staff at Ascot House were great. The breakfasts are pretty much set with some exceptions if you don't like something, the chef tries to accommodate when it's possible which is a great thing to be able to offer. The owner June does a great job with keeping Ascot House friendly and accessible to all people. We had a lovely time staying here and visiting York."

"A wonderful, clean,air condtioned room and staff can be contacted 24/7 if any problems. Bed was very comfortable and being left a small bottle of milk in the fridge was a nice touch. Parking was no problem at all in front of buillding. Did have any food but all looked lovely. Would definately recommend."

"I stayed only a few nights and had wonderful experience. Place is relatively easy to find - this relaxing walk through the green park was a big joyful bonus. Very clean room, comfy bed, good shower. Attention to detail in any aspect. So, it was a real pleasure to return to my room after spending a day in a busy town. Thank you Fiona and Ricardo for making my stay so special. "Really great hotel with so much attention to detail. Record players in the room and a huge selection of records is a really nice touch. The Radio was on when we arrived to our room and the Pantry is generous & a really unique touch. Canadian lady on the Bar was knowledgeable & super friendly (Pleasantly surprised at how reasonable the extensive bar menu was priced). Just really really cool & great location."

"We were put in room 41 in the Lodge at the bottom of the car park. When we checked in the window was wide open and there was a smell of damp. As we were going straight out we just dropped our bags, closed the window and left. We came back at 1-pm to an overwhelming smell of damp. It is possibly the worst hotel room I have ever slept in."

The bed was comfortable and clean, air conditioner worked great and the shower was excellent.
