"The hotel lobby and the room I stayed in had been recently refurbished. Other areas of the building were tired and not to the same standard. The tap water in the room ran yellow for a while and the shower didn't drain. The hotel is under refurbishment so hopefully when it's complete the experience will be consistent throughout. On a whole, it was good value for money but not as modern/fancy as the pictures portray."

"The bed was very uncomfortable!!! It dipped in the middle so it was quite difficult to lie flat.
The balcony only had one seat on it but, as we couldn’t get the door open anyway, that wasn’t a problem.
I didn’t take a shower cap with me as I expected the hotel to provide a selection of toiletries. It didn’t.
The shower head was a bit loose and out of my reach and, at one point, it was actually pointing at the wall with most of the water running down the wall.

"When I turned on to the drive I was struck by the stunning tudor style building and grounds. I received a warm welcome from the friendly staff when I checked in, and clear directions on how to get to my room. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the bathroom was clean. "The staff were very welcoming even when we arrived very late (23:50) somewhat wet and bedraggled after a horrendous drive in the rain up the M6. "Quiet room though we were on the ground floor and had no view. Staff very friendly and helpful. Dinner and breakfast were fine; the best onion bhajis of my life so they are THOROUGHLY recommended.
