Another good stay. Good basic and clean accommodation, being winter I did find it rather cold this time and could have done with another or thicker duvet but the accommodation itself lacks nothing, well positioned in a nice suburban area of Kyoto close to transport, and it's own shrines and onsens.

This place is a great stay, has everything you need in the room including cookware, dishes, a good amount of space. They have a lot of recommendations on restaurants and shopping and even have a manual in the room to show you how to use everything in the room.

We used Ben's as a base for our Japan stay for two weeks(multiple nights in other cities). It was a clean and tidy traditional style room. The location was at a quiet area of Kyoto, but was convenient for travel into the centre of Kyoto and the station. Plenty of shops and dining nearby. The staff were friendly and helpful and we would happily stay there again.

Room - very basic room with laundry (great), toilet and mini kitchen. Ad pictures looked bigger than actual room size. Room was clean but no cleaning staff during our 4 night stay. Garbage needed to be placed outside the door before 11am. Good enough for sleeping after a long day. We were 5 and would recommend the place for max 3 people. Location - 10 to 15 min walk from the bus stop depending what bus you get into, far from the main city attractions. This will be a Price vs Convenience consideration. Staff - not what you would expect. There was a lone guy that checked us in. Staff not always available, limited times only. Price - Good

We loved our stay at Ben's Guesthouse Kyoto while visiting my son who is studying abroad at Doshisha University for the year. The check-in and check-out process was communicated very clearly, the room was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay, the beds and linens were very comfortable, and the area of the city was very quiet. We would stay there again for sure if we ever visit Kyoto again.

This was a welcoming place for our family's first visit to Kyoto. Ben was kind and accomodating, letting us in a little early. The room was clean and comfortable and the area was quiet and there were many places to see within walking distance, and it was close to the hop on, hop off bus.

Our stay here was terrific. Ben has information posted of local places to try in the area. The bus is a bit of a walk daily but it is doable. The area itself is quiet and a fantastic area to be to meet locals. Check in was easy and Ben laid out all the expectations up front which we appreciated. We would definitely stay here again.

The space was very clean and comfortable, and the amenities, especially the kitchen and laundry, were extremely convenient. The neighborhood had a great vibe, with nearby shops, restaurants and grocery. I'd be happy to stay here again.
