Mitsui Garden hotels earned a lifelong customer due to the care, professionalism, and service provided during our 4-night stay. The staff were attentive and kind assisting my wife and I in both English and Japanese. The room was clean, spacious and all amenities of your choosing are provided. We were able to use the buffet breakfast several times and it was delicious and the staff were very courteous even though they were extremely busy. On a personal note, I would like to say Yoshida-san in reception really stood out and was super kind to myself and my wife. We were recently married and she had provided us a small gift of congratulations. Thank you Mitsui Garden, the staff, and Yoshida-san for making our Kyoto trip even more memorable!

I absolutely love this hotel! The beautiful entry is so inviting, and the staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. While the onsen is a bit small, it never felt crowded and was wonderfully relaxing. Breakfast is an absolute must—it’s fresh, flavorful, and truly delicious!

This was our third stay at Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shinmachi Bettei, and it continues to be a favourite. The hotel is beautifully designed, the staff are welcoming, and the location is perfect – quiet, walkable, and full of charm. While the rooms are on the smaller side (as expected in Kyoto), they’re extremely comfortable with excellent lighting and thoughtful layout. I always feel relaxed and at ease here. The public bath is a lovely bonus after a long day exploring. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful, stylish base in Kyoto.

Beautiful property, but the room was tiny, beds and pillows quite uncomfortable. That said the staff were lovely and everything was spotless and in good condition. Great amenities etc. Would stay here again if I had smaller luggage or were travelling alone.

Beautiful Hotel and Kind Staff

The hotel itself was absolutely gorgeous! Perfect stay for us wanting to see some traditional Japanese architecture with some amazing service!
