"I had a wonderful five-night solo stay at Atelier Playa Mujeres. The resort feels luxurious, and I loved the darker, sexy, jungle-meets-beach aesthetic of the rooms. My room was comfortable and well kept, the beach was beautiful, and nearly 24-hour in-room dining made it feel truly all-inclusive.
The staff were the highlight. The Experience Team works hard to keep guests entertained, and special thanks to Jonathan and Ethan, especially Ethan, who continued checking in on me and made me feel so welcome as a solo traveler. Demarys and Alonso at the beach were incredibly sweet and even encouraged me to practice my Spanish. Daniel and Miguel by the pool took great care of me, and Miguel and Fernando at the lobby bar were wonderful. They put real care into their drinks and made me feel very comfortable traveling alone.
My main critique is consistency with restaurant service. Some dining experiences were exceptional, while others fell short. One server at the Italian restaurant made me feel unwelcome, while my first steakhouse visit was fantastic.
Unfortunately, when I returned on my final night, I waited nearly 30 minutes despite an 8 PM reservation, received the wrong appetizers, had another forgotten, and experienced very slow service.
Overall, the positives far outweighed the negatives. A beautiful resort with wonderful people; I’d just love to see more consistency in dining service."
