"Great small homely hotel with fabulous views of the hills and moors. Nice bar and lounge with excellent breakfast in morning. We stayed in main hotel but the little cabins look fab. Will come back to try one. Great place to stay when visiting the area. Great night out in uppermill … lots of pubs and restaurants just 2 miles away"

"Run down hotel. Cracked walls. Unrefreshend smell to the room. Not worth 1/4 of the $$$ I paid. Getting out of the bathtub was a fall hazard. Shower pressure was low...on the ground floor I wonder what its like on the top floor. Very unpolite and discriminatory frontend staff. Had paid for a quadruple room but was given a lower occupancy room. The only positive thing was the comfy bed and having a roof over one's head."

"The staff are fantastic. I notified a member of the bar staff that we had a booking and he got me checked in immediately, sorted our keys out for us and showed me the room. He gave me good detail about the hotel and the fire exits, door keys etc. The rooms are separated from the pub by a locked door that you're given a key for. This is very reassuring and secure. The pub itself was quiet before too late so getting to sleep was easy. The fan in the room was very much appreciated as we stayed...

"Great location. Room was very spacious. The window did not open which made it slightly warm and the 2 lamps were not sufficient for, in my case, packing at night after being at an event. Would like to see a fridge in the room too as was big enough. A fan is provided and this did help the heat issue. Bathroom was lovely and a good size too. Would stay again though."

"Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent, fresh fruit, cereals, and a hot cooked breakfast. The only negative, we had to pay for parking, we booked on Expedia and it was advertised as parking available, no mention of having to pay. We will use this hotel again but will book directly through the hotel website. ( cheaper too )"

"My team had to leave. These are not the images of the actual property. Black mould, uninhabitable. Awaiting ANY response from hotels.com or the owner regards a FULL refund. Quote from owner/manager 'yeah we know about the mould but we're waiting for tradesmen to come and re-do the bathrooms.... FYI it's not just the bathrooms, it's everywhere."
