"Elegant and immaculate beautifully restored vintage hotel with beautiful pool in tropical garden setting and a private, comfortable, spotless suite with lovely terrace. Dinner on the veranda at Marquesa Cafe restaurant was delicious, taking us back to a bygone era. Martinis and wine were fabulous. Hotel and restaurant staff were wonderful. Highly recommend for romantic stay. "

"The room was kept clean. Definitely an older hotel, which is a part of the charm. The grounds were truly beautiful and well kept. We very much enjoyed our stay. The only drawback is an outdated bathroom. If you don’t mind that, then this is highly recommended stay!"

"These folks really go above and beyond. The property itself was so on-point in layout and decor, the room was very clean and the added touches so appreciated. The warm welcome and happy hour on the porch were a huge bonus, as was the breakfast layout. Pool was quaint but refreshing. Outdoor shared space was thoughtfully and comfortably laid out. Great location to take in Duval Street! Overall excellent experience."

Love the attention to detail, white linen tablecloths at breakfast.Have been to key west about 2-3 times per yr for 30 yrs. Usually stay at another property. They have recently been bought out by a large company. Do not like the corporate feel. Staff is no longer friendly. Orchid Key is my new place to stay, See you soon!"

"An older B&B, but very comfortable breakfast was great. Courtyard is fantastic. Staff was courteous and friendly, a laid back spot on Duval street. I would recommend this one."

"This was our second stay at the Douglas House in 2 years. The grounds are maintained very well and the staff was kind. I had noticed a couple of changes from our prior stay. New ownership, Pay to park instead of included with a short walk to the corner lot. The cost of golf cart rental at the DH was $50 more than other vendors that will deliver and pick up to the DH. Our overall perception is if you are looking for a quiet stay just steps from Duval, this is your place."

"Great place to stay! Walking distance to Duval Street. Bike rental one block away. Great fish cafe one block away. Rent a golf cart! You don't need a car. Very good continental breakfast here. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Five Stars!"

"We loved this hotel! The area was quiet and within walking distance to everything that we wanted to do. We stayed right next to the pool and loved the convenience of it! Our room was clean and spacious. The shower was a little tricky- there’s not really an option for warm water (it was either really hot or really cold). The breakfast every morning was good with lots of options. We would definitely stay there again!"

"The private pool is not private. It is near the walkways so everyone walking by can see into the pool/your room. The bar on the roof deck is small and the seats are not comfortable. The staff was awful, unfriendly, rude, and acted as we were bothering them. From the moment we arrived it was really disappointing."
