"Typically I like to stay at more local, smaller hotels but for several reasons (a big one was that we needed an extra bed for our daughter) a corporate chain was a better choice for this particular trip. The Marriott Holyrood is definitely a corporate hotel, not a lot of personality and on a boring street. But it honestly was a great experience. The room was big (junior suite), reasonably priced, super quiet, very comfortable, beds were great, breakfast was excellent (not just buffet - there's a menu you can order from). If you have access to the M suite there are snacks and drinks there free of charge. I actually didn't use the gym or pool, didn't have the time, but they both looked great. And most of all, the staff was so friendly and kind and helpful. I actually left some things in the room in a rush to check out and they secured them for me for several days until I could retrieve them. Great experience."
