"Honest, true review. The hotel welcome at reception was good, with the male member of staff taking us to our room and showing us around. We had one of the Mad Hatter self catering cottages. The cottages are clearly in need of an update, with paint flaking off of walls, creaky stained floorboards and stains on chair cushions. "The Hotel was very clean staff amazing,very good breakfast,I don't drive but lots of parking spaces. We where minutes from the new forest with lots of tracks to walk, we saw lots of new forest pony's plus a couple of Donkys. Close to public transport, so we visited Southampton in under 1 hour. Live entertainment at the hotel and a great bar,we enjoyed the stay and we will definitely go again,oh yes bathroom had a huge swirl pool bath"

"Upon entering, the room smelt strongly of mould and damp. There was mould all over the bedroom window and the smell also came from the bathroom. The bathroom door latch didn't work, so the door didn't stay closed. The bathroom extractor fan is caked with dust, the bath looks like it hadn't been cleaned, the panel looks incomplete and the grouting is mouldy in the shower. "Lovely stay overall. The room was clean, comfortable and well maintained throughout our visit. The back lawn/outdoor area was absolutely lovely and very relaxing, with a great atmosphere. Staff were attentive, friendly and helpful despite it being an extremely busy bank holiday weekend. The food was really good throughout our stay and the bar area was a great place to unwind in the evening. Would certainly return."

"This is a 15th Century building with the stable block converted into accommodation. The room we occupied was very large with all the usual amenities, pristine clean with a huge comfortable bed. The breakfast menu was comprehensive as was the dinner menu. My only suggestion is that a help yourself coffee and tea facility would enhance its facilities.Excellent hotel at the price."
