"The menu was very good with a nice selection both for dinner and breakfast. Unfortunately our toilet had a leak and therefore kept filling every 5 to10 minutes. They did offer to move us but we stuck with it. Also the shaver point didn't work. "

"This property is stunning. It has great access to the small villages nearby and its own property is situated on lots of beautiful acreage. The rooms are lovely, and the breakfast was outstanding. The staff contributed substantially to making this a wonderful day."

"We had a wonderful, relaxing stay. The staff were all very welcoming and accommodating throughout. The grounds and rooms are well maintained and food in the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast were prepared to a very high standard. The only thing I would mention is that there is a breakfast buffet advertised by Expedia; flagging that this is only for continental and the hot food is made to order (I imagine because it is a smaller amount of rooms than a larger property, so reduces waste and improves quality control), just to avoid any disappointment for those who prefer to choose themselves how many items/type of hot food they prefer. However, as above, the quality of the breakfast was excellent and there were plenty of options to suit all palates and a range of dietary requirements."

"Good hotel and comfortable bed. Had cancel the second night as the hotel was closed. Access for an 81 year old was very difficult. Lots of stairs to manage. The very cold weather made it even more difficult. The manager was very good and helpful. We hope to get a refund for the second night. The location was excellent and the pub was very quirky and quite special. "

"Dilapidated "For Sale" sign outside was indicative of the general state. Friendly receptionist showed us to room which was reasonable. Fridge missing. TV produced only "No signal" and receptionist could not make it work so spent an hour sorting another room to which we moved. This had the promised fridge and working TV. Badly stained furniture (photo) and traces of mould on shower curtain. Blocked bath/shower drain very slow to clear. Actual shower worked excellently, good flow and stable temperature - best thing about the place! Towels and bedding appeared clean. Bar deserted, real ale not available. Restaurant deserted, looked abandoned and although a menu was in evidence it is unclear whether the kitchen was working. Fortunately great food and drink were available at other establishments within easy walking distance in Forest Row.. Exterior all in need of a proper clean. All in all a poor choice based on website, will not be returning."
