Only issue was the lack of air conditioning in our room. Advertised as having A/C but apparently not in every room. Since front desk staff gone at 5:00 there wasn’t any relief from the heat the first night. Housekeeping did give us a fan the next day but it was very loud. "I have stayed at Foster's many times in the past and was concerned that the renovations might have interfered with the charm. However the big difference was a majorly upgraded bathroom and a few cleaner lines. The antiques and comfy furniture (including the bed) remained. Improvements all around. "This is an older property with a Lot of potential. The rooms were clean, my bed was comfy and because it was not a hot night the rooms were cool because it has no air conditioning. But my room was only $125.00 a night so a good deal if just passing through. However, you do not get the shampoos etc that you find in higher end hotels either. Not a problem. "The Wood View House is a stunningly beautiful B&B. Our hosts we welcoming and helpful; and our bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The house is convenient to downtown, and an easy walk to the dock the boat tours leave from. As a bonus there is a very nice intimate restaurant that serves delicious food at dinner."
