"Room very clean and housekeeping in attendance. Breakfast - chaotic but a very busy period for hotel; staff multi-tasking perhaps a bit too much; guests not too sure where anything was located at buffet; no room-check 'just turn up' gives impression of low-value aspect. Everything else, fine."

"Simon, the landlord, was personable and very helpful. We had both dinner and breakfast which were very nice. Our room was fine and the bathroom facilities adequate. The property generally could do with a bit of tlc but, that said, we had a nice stay."

"One-night stay, I didn't use the bar or restaurant. Breakfast was good, choices of continental, choices in cooked dishes. Staff were approachable and helpful, check-in good. Free parking. The room could use renovation, bathroom especially - sink taps not matching, top of cold tap broken; towel radiator hot (could not switch off - in a heat wave). Everything was clean."

"The property is lovely and has a very traditional English feel which we appreciated, however the entire property lacks any ventilation/airflow - suffice to say there is also no air conditioning - which made the rooms simply insufferable during a heat wave. Recognizing that the climate has changed, management needs to provide at minimum a fan per room to enable some degree of ventilation and air movement during summer months if they expect guests to be able to sleep and enjoy the facilities."

"We wrote to the hotel to give them a chance to discuss our problem, no response. Breakfast was part of our deal, we sat down ordered it, we were not told at any stage there would be a long wait, after an hour we asked, then told a delay, asked how long the server did not come back, people before us still waiting, it could have been another 30 minutes making it at least 1 and a half hours, we were running late as had family commitments, so we had to leave. No one seemed to be in charge or...

"A very relaxing stay and the breakfast was fantastic, plenty of choice to choose from."

"The property is well located with multi storey car park nearby and the river views very welcoming. Check in late at night was a bit hap hazard, mainly due to process changes but when we really wanted to get to bed it was a bit delayed. The bed was comfy, shower very good and over all very comfortable. "

"Our arrival was admittedly very late - 2.30am. TV in our room did not work at all. The 24 hr Receptionist could not communicate so unable to help about the TV. Breakfast was self service Toast/Strawberry Jam and Cereals. Staff hardly any spoke English.We had to leave very early so no experience of whether the Bar was open or not. Very poor quality hotel so will not ever stay there again."

"Both myself and my partner were really disappointed with our stay. The shower was freezing, for an expensive hotel I expected to have hot water. The floor of the shower was cracked in two places. The room was unbearably hot with the air con not working. Again for how much we paid I wish we had just stayed in the travel lodge up the road."
