"Booked last minute at this property. Room was very good and clean Staff were professional but a bit still. Breakfast was the biggest let down. Cost was very high and the standard of food was not great. Avocado on toast was very plain and boring. Buffet was limited. Pancakes were very thin and tasteless Then being shoved in your face while you’re eating the extra 2.50 docket was rather rude. Would go again."

"We had a lovely weekend stay at this hotel, which is only a 10 minute walk from the city centre and close to York’s many attractions. Our air conditioned room was very clean, with a comfortable bed, tea and coffee making facilities, dressing table, hairdryer, iron, tv and plenty of power sockets. "Fun vibe. Check in was easy and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was excellent with many options, food was fresh and delicious. Room was typical and clean. No turndown service between the two days we were there which was a bit of a surprise. Not necessary but would have been appreciated. Would stay here again."

"When checking out our room was different, we are from Arizona and never used anything like this, we had to use the key card to turn on electricity to the room. The bed was comfortable and clean, air conditioner worked great and the shower was excellent. The staff was excellent and answered all my questions.The laundry room was ok, washed all the clothes well, but drying the clothes wasn't that good after an hour still had to let the clothes dry in our room.Kitchen was nice had a dishwasher and...

"We were put in room 41 in the Lodge at the bottom of the car park. When we checked in the window was wide open and there was a smell of damp. As we were going straight out we just dropped our bags, closed the window and left. We came back at 1-pm to an overwhelming smell of damp. It is possibly the worst hotel room I have ever slept in."

"Perfect location for walking through York Gardens. We were downstairs but still had plenty of light coming through. Lots of space and we cracked our window at night which kept us cool enough - though wished there was a safety lock on the windows - we didn’t notice one. And the fan could be cleaned - didn’t use because it was covered it dust. Sink was stopped up but couldn’t be we didn’t know how to open the drain more."
