"We stayed for a weekend getaway and the room itself was perfectly comfortable, nice enough, though more corporate and sterile than I typically like. But the customer service was consistently some of the worst (and strangest!?) we've encountered. The Big Sur Marathon was happening on our checkout Sunday, something the hotel never once mentioned during booking or check-in. Staff told us we couldn't leave until after the race when highway 1 reopened and that late checkout likely wasn't an option....

"Love this place, just 2 minutes from the beach and a 25-minute walk to downtown Carmel. The staff are first class, with George in particular standing out. Our room was upgraded upon arrival and was beautifully decorated. The complimentary mini bar and snacks were a lovely surprise, and the breakfast was delicious. "

"This was a beautiful place to stay in Carmel by the Sea. It is only one block away from a scenic beach with a nice walking trail. The property was immaculate and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We were able to order nice breakfasts and have them delivered to our room. This property is a few blocks from downtown so it is very quiet. It was very easy to obtain an Uber for the short ride but the walk is filled with the most beautiful houses to see. "We would not recommend this property. The property is worn out. Visible signs or wear and tear. No AC. Walls are very thin. You can hear the people upstairs, or people talk next door, the fountain running outside. The chairs are completely stained. The door knob did not lock!!! Only top lock worked. The only positive is the location."

"Beautiful property. Like going to Europe without actually being there. Centrally located within walking distances of everything you’d want to see, visit or go eat at in Carmel. Of course, you have a Michelin star experience at the hotel as well in their restaurant. The attention to detail all around, including the staff and service, was impeccable "
