"We stayed for six nights, there was some fluff on the floor when we checked in, it was still there when we checked out! One evening, we had a decent lunch so only wanted a snack in the evening. We both had ham sandwiches which while nice ham, no attempt had been made to present them, for example, a salad garnish would have gone a long way. "The staff at this hotel are excellent, very friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable. My only criticism of our stay is you now have to pay for parking separately which always used to be included."

"Friendly staff"

"Staff need training. No welcome from reception. Room needed a lot of updating. Fire alarm went off in early hours. No staff on site and no emergency contact details readily available once we had evacuated. No apology when checking out and we weren’t asked if we’d had a good stay. Excellent location."

"Hotel was very clean and well maintained. The employees went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. The bar was so quaint and cool, good food also. The breakfast buffet in the morning was outstanding. The hotel is ocean front with great views and close to city center. It’s also walkable to the castle. Just a great hotel!"

"The restaurant attached to the hotel was excellent, staff were friendly, food was excellent, we were glad we didn’t have to go far to eat as being new to the town it was hard to find a place. I believe the restaurant is closing which will be a shame for future travellers.. "Very good stay"

"Whilst we only live 15 minutes away we have stayed here on several occasions as it is the perfect place for a night away. Everything makes you feel so relaxed and the team are very welcoming. It has a great atmosphere with good food and the breakfast is wonderful. The country setting is lovely too but within easy driving distance of the motorways, railway and ports. I would definitely recommend"

"This was a really disappointing day. We found the rooms were not very clean very dusty dirty corridors the whole hotel is dated. The problem is the cleanliness. When we had breakfast, the plates were not clean. The whole pool area was dirty. The toilet et cetera were not very nice. Wi-Fi was okay. Breakfast wasn’t great. "Good parking facilities. Hotel is right in town which is a real bonus. Staff were helpful and friendly. We did not have breakfast at the hotel so cannot comment on that. We went instead to a very charming cafe just for a change. Unfortunately the down side of the hotel are the rooms. We had a twin room, nice view and large. "This hotel was in a great location (a 10 - 15 minute walk along the beach to the Harbour Arm) and was a delight all round. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was a real highlight. "
