"Large, clean, quiet room on 8th floor. Comfortable bed. Spacious lobby area with lots of seating and a coffee machine with plenty of options. Outstanding staff, helped us with everything from holding the elevator door open for me when I was holding two cups of coffee to printing out documents sent to us at the last minute. There were restaurants, bars, a couple of small groceries and cafes on our block or within a 5 minute walk. The area is not as frightening as many reviews have made it out to be. For sure some sketchy people and sketchy smells but nothing out of the ordinary in a big city and not much different from what you’ll encounter in the much more upscale Union Square. "

"The hotel is a former motel. Generally tired although bed was comfortable. Little things like you have to get a hair dryer from the front desk, torn carpet, chewed cabinetry, towel with hole all caused me to rate lower. Bundled package with airfare was a good deal so I can't complain too much. "
