"I enjoyed my stay. It isn’t the most amazing resort but it does what it does pretty well. There is basically one main pool divided by a bar, one buffet, and one restaurant. The restaurant was a little difficult to schedule on their app but it was actually pretty easy to walk to the front and ask if they had any space. It was really laid back which was the vibe of the whole place. There were lots of local guests and minimal tourists which is what I enjoyed. It felt like a more authentic cultural experience. The buffet, though small, was excellent. The food felt like I was eating at someone’s home and the waitstaff was very attentive. Resort activities were lacking but the girls that ran them were basically teenagers and trying their best to engage the guests so I can’t fault them for that. A strange challenge was the Hyatt right next door sometimes overpowering our area w their music but it is what it is. Really, what makes this resort an excellent stay is the location - San Jose del Cabo has an amazing downtown area and art walk. It is just so vibrant and full of life and culture. The stay here is worth it for the access to that alone and I would easily go back with that in mind. All in all, an affordable and pleasant stay with minimal issue. 4/5 stars."

"We had a wonderful time while my husband and I were there, but I do have to say, we were very surprised to hear upon check in that we needed to pay a $70/day “Resort fee” on top of our already paid stay, which wasn’t disclosed (or if it was, it was in the smallest of fonts!). There was nothing we could do at the time but agree. Later at the pool, when we asked for our check, we noticed that the service was included, which is perfectly fine, however, the waiter said that that was “only” the service, but not his tip; it was very awkward, and we were sure “service included” means his tip, and on top of the “resort fee”? It seemed like we were politely being taken advantage of left and right. Beautiful resort, amazing rooms, top-notch decor and comfort, but to not even get a couple of bottles of water in the room (we asked for some and they told us to go down to the store or order room service)… not worth the price."
