Avila Beach House
10/10 Excellent
"Recently renovated, clean and family friendly. Extremely convenient walkable location. Our park view suite had a door to the bedroom which was nice to separate out the rooms. The grounds, Pool and spa were well maintained. Breakfast was well stocked (waffle maker, cereal, yogurt, granola, muffins, oatmeal, eggs, potatoes, bacon or sausage and juice/coffee/etc). In room mini fridge had no freezer."

Apple Farm
8/10 Good
"The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 was the $15 per night parking fee and the Apple Farm restaurant. The Inn was clean, the staff was exceptional, and the room was very comfortable. We have been looking forward to coming back for a while to the Apple Farm, and the Inn did not disappoint. The restaurant used to be very good, but not any more. This time the restaurant was not very crowded, the service was lacking, the food was mediocre, and a couple in our party didn’t feel very good after eating there… It’s sad, but something needs to change in the food side of the property and get it back up to the standard that they had in prior years. We would probably go back to the Apple Farm Inn, but why not just add a little to the room costs instead of putting on a hidden charge for parking? They could do better on that. Overall, still a great option in SLO, and a very convenient location."
