"The location alone makes this place magical. It is literally the BEST spot to be for easy beach access, right on the Sandcastle Drive entrance. I LOVED the fact there wasn't a long boardwalk, and I could see the water from the front door of the hotel. I will say, though, you aren't paying for frills, so you won't be getting frills. The room will be clean, secure, good AC, fridge, etc. but it is basic, stripped down, few utensils, little thin trashbags, no working ice machine, no working laundromat, no real "decoration" and certainly no comfortable fold out sofa beds. The shower, at first, appeared dirty, but it's actually stained, likely from a hair dye incident; The fixtures for sinks and bath were newer and relatively nice; Fresh towels were exchanged each day, but I hated not having a broom and decent trashbags in our room. We did cook each day and night for meals, so be prepared to bring or buy a few things if you plan to do the same; The bed in the room that was not a foldout was very comfortable. I really liked staying here. I saved nearly $400 by accepting a little less luxury and instead, I rented a beach buggy and zip zapped all up and down the sand for days. It was glorious. I knew it was a bit of a gamble, and it was definitely a "basic" place, but I'd stay here again for sure! The price plus the location plus the fact it was relatively clean and safe just cannot be matched."
