"This is a very nice old historic inn. It has a restaurant that serves lunch and dinner, and a bar inside, as well as a shady garden with places to sit outside as you enjoy a drink or food. "My husband and I wanted a halfway point stay traveling to our family beach vacation in Topsail Beach, NC. We didn’t particularly want a stay at a generic hotel in VA. This gem popped up and I booked it! I’m so glad that I did! The cottage was amazing… waterfront on a little creek! It was immaculately clean and the decor was beautiful! "The bed was very uncomfortable. Seems to me this is a old bed . I checked with front desk to help. They suggested a different room why do I have a inconvenience to move all my items just because a bed that you expect to be comfortable. They refunded to refund at least half price. They refused . So I left very sad with this"

"The AC in our King bed with pull out sofa bed room was terrible. Temperature could not be controlled. Wall thermostat was almost unusable. Expedia stated a $100 pet fee when I booked, but I was charged $150. In addition, there was no mention of a daily parking fee of $5.30 when I booked or at check-in. We left a day early and I understand we would not be refunded that last night even though we did not stay there, but we were also charged that parking fee for a parking space we did not use. The...

"Our room did not have a handicap shower. Originally bought a king suite with ada shower. So the hostest gave us regular Ada queen room, which ended up being a single double bed not a queen! We were given no refund for the difference in room prices. Just very upsetting for a Hilton stay."
