"Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location in the middle of the North York Moors National Park. The room was very clean, the linen of high quality and the bed was very comfortable. All the amenities worked. The rooms are above the pub so there was some chatter and music. This wasn’t a problem for me. The breakfast was delicious. I would stay here again. Thank you for a wonderful stay."

"Lovely clean room , had a meal in the lounge bar lovely ambiance and plenty of room lovely fireplace lots of room to sit there are 3 different rooms you can eat we got shown the restaurant that was a lovely setting we had breakfast in there but we ate in the lounge , staff are very attentive polite and courteous very high standards looked after us very well , breakfast was lovely help yourself to continental items the they come over to take your hot breakfast plenty of choice could not fault any...

"This is our 3rd time of visiting. Lovely warm atmosphere. Staff very welcoming, friendly, helpful and attentive. Dog friendly. Some bits of the decor need updating (which is planned) but still a relaxing and comfortable stay. The room was spacious and well equipped. The food is excellent and well presented. Would definitely recommend it."

Unfortunately, what should have been a lovely and relaxing family break was overshadowed by a number of issues relating to cleanliness, service and the overall guest experience. "Lovely stay - fast check in, great lunch in the restaurant and an even better breakfast was had. We got a b&b deal through Expedia which included a full continental breakfast for starters and then a hot meal. I had eggs Benedict and my husband had the full English. Very nice setting and outlook. Only downside is that the room gets very hot - had to use the fan all night. And then there were some noisy occupants above us who decided to put tv on around 2am!!"
