"The location of the property is fantastic. The biggest disappointment was we stayed over a very hot weekend and there was no installed air-conditioning therefore a Mobile Aircon unit was brought to the room but it didn’t work and the room was absolutely sweltering all weekend. We couldn’t sleep during the heat and it spoilt our stay."

"My mother and I stayed in a room with two queen beds. Very clean, beds were so comfortable, we both had a tremendous night sleep. The air con was a little slow but worked all the same. The staff on both days we're helpful, very polite and kind. The breakfast was hot and fresh and staff were responsive to our needs as well as the needs of others with clearing plates, getting extra bread, to go cups etc. Only criticism i can make is the bar didn't take cash and we don't really use card. Very dark wallpaper lovely huge bed and linens. Breakfast was ok for free. Capuccino was delicious. Would we go back? Definitely just not for a long while as it is being restored in September so closed for a long time. Cant wait to see refurbed hotel . "

"We Usually stay in hotels, but decided to stay in a guest house this time. Got to say we were really impressed with Chester house. It was very clean and tidy, the bed was very comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful, (in both here and their sister property, Chester court hotel, next door), and the included breakfasts were excellent. In addition, it was great to have ample free parking on site The location is also very convenient for Chester city centre and also to nearby Hoole village,...

"Great location. The room was nice, if a little warm, the A/C wasn’t very powerful and our fridge didn’t work. However the room was very clean and had a nice feel to it. The hotel in general had quirky decor which was interesting to look at. The breakfast was ok, but we were disappointed there wasn’t any cereal, pastries and other help yourself items. The staff very very friendly and helpful. Overall we enjoyed our stay."

"Check in was a bit antiquated. Paper and pen in the 21st century. Also 2 reception desks but with unequal queues. Bend linen a bit starchy, and of course they all use that industrial cleaner from sketchleys which smells terrible The towels smelt terrible as well It really should be that the linen and towels are cleaned with a domestic soap powder like aerial or bold, or with a conditioner like comfort so that customers get the wow factor of the room smelling like home rather than a hospital."

"Lovely clean room very comfortable and cosy. Gorgeous bathroom with a large shower. Pub has loads of character and charm, staff very friendly and helpful. Perfect place to stay to be in the centre of everything."

"The room was nice and spacious and overlooked the racecourse which was nice! The staff were all great and super friendly. Breakfast had more choice than I was expecting so was pleasantly surprised with it. Parking was free with us being there for the races which was also unexpected. Great location for the races, we will definitely stay here again. The only thing that let it down was how hot it was without air conditioning in the heatwave. There is a fan in the room but it's not very powerful,...
