This is an apartment, not a hotel. So no staff on property to give helpful information about how to get places, recommended restaurants, etc. The owner did communicate a bit by email before we arrived, and met us at the front door to explain keys, etc. Pros: the apartment is modern & large by European standards. It's clean and did have a small fridge µwave, hotpot & nespresso machine. A bottle of complimentary champagne was provided. It's close to Rialto bridge but not on the Grand Canal. It's 2 blocks off a main avenue, so quieter at night except for theater-goers im the courtyard below and water taxi drivers on short breaks on the small inner canal . Cons: there is no concierge, so if you need help of any kind, you're on your own. We did get a water taxi referral, and that worked since they gave us directions to the closest dock, but 30 euros higher than what friends paid for service to Venice airport. We could've used a little more help understanding transportation and navigating Venice. The apt is up 3 flights of stairs with no elevator; we had help when we arrived but not when we left, and my roommate had an injured back, so it was extremely difficult getting bags up and down by myself. The toom's doorlatch is tricky, and we figured it out but had to call for help once. Several sockets didn’t work and although coffee pods were left, the Nespresso machine didn’t work 90% of the time. Don't count on sleeping 4 since the sofabed has a horrible mattress.
