"Room was fine, tea and coffee wasn't very nice and no complementary biscuits. No magnifying mirror in the bathroom. States Brompton however 8 miles away. Bed was really uncomfortable. Evening meal was nice, 10% surcharge on you bill! Wine expenses! Breakfast was so so. Waited a long time for someone to come to the checkin fest on arrival and departure. Probably would try an alternative hotel "

"Accurately advertised. You can literally see a mile castle on Hadrian’s Wall from your room. Beautiful country views. A problem with our heat was addressed immediately. Excellent dinner choices and service in the cozy pub. "

"A lovely stay in a beautiful part of the world. We stayed in one of the accessible rooms, so can’t comment on the other accommodation, but our room was clean, if a little dated. The real positives were the staff, genuinely lovely and welcoming – along with excellent food and a great selection of local beers on tap. "A beautiful cottage in a secluded area with lovely views of surrounding hills and forest. The photos dont do it justice, it is much bigger in reality. It is very well equipped, and beds very comfortable with spotless linen. Even in cold weather, the cottage has more than enough radiators and a very efficient log burner to keep you warm. "The bar was well stocked great pub atmosphere. Our twin room was lovely and spacious. Beds were comfy. Host were friendly left us in peace. The back door was easy quick exit for leaving. There is room for improvement on the corridor to the stairs of our room. Overall would happily stay again. Did not try the food."
