"I am not familiar with the SF area. Riding to the Hotel, we passed many homeless people and some little camps on sidewalks. This all stopped a block away. And, we did not have a need to travel that direction. One I got my bearings, I felt much better. Just a surprise. The area with the Marker is very safe. "This hotel was absolutely gorgeous! The linens and pillows were divine, the room and lobby stylish, and the staff were always so friendly and kind. The whole hotel smelled so good and was spotless. The coffee from the little coffee shop on the first floor was pretty good! Appreciated the shuttle to the convention center (was here for a work conference). Would highly recommend and would stay again!"

"All of the staff we encountered were very friendly and informative. Rooms were clean. Only problem was room was a little stuffy could use a better a/c unit luckily I had brought a small fan for us which helped us stay cooler."

"Historic hotel in a good location. Friendly staff. Street noise was prevalent at various hours. Windows could use new double panes. Walls are thin and we were awakened by noisy neighbors at 2:30 am. Security did a good job taking ownership of the situation. Biggest disappointment was the Starlight lounge. Service was incredibly slow...20 minutes after ordering to receive our drinks which were extra light pours especially for a $26 martini where I was charged $3 to have it dirty and $3...

"Staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking was safe. Pool was clean and warm. Water dispenser was broken. Beds were clean and comfortable. The property was well kept and absolutely beautiful at dusk when the outside lights turn on. Feels like you're not even in the city. (Except we heard gunshots at about 2:45am) There's no fridge or microwave in rooms which was a bummer but they did have an ice machine. Overall great stay and will probably be returning someday."
