"Way too expensive for the room. Entrance smelled like urine. Also the one night of sleep that I had was abruptly ruined by jack hammers and pipes banging at 6:03am!! I was wondering why there was ear plugs next to the bed until I was woken up. No notice of construction on the site or even at front desk. For someone who travels very often if the hotel knows there is construction - they tell you. "

"Great location, close to the National Mall. Comfortable accommodations. Couple of minor maintenance concerns with broken lamp and toilet flush kit but nothing we couldn’t manage. Enjoyed the roof top terrace too! Great stay!"

"We loved our room here. We had a studio apartment on the first floor and it was just what we wanted. We were able to get some groceries nearby and make some meals in our room which is a big plus. The rooms were clean and spacious and the location is perfect. Right off the subway to get anywhere you need to go in DC. So many cool buildings and things to see while walking around the area. Definitely a lot of history. "

"I stayed at the AKA White House for just one night, and since it's an apartment hotel, my room was huge, as large or larger than my own condominium. It was beautifully furnished with a full kitchen, a powder room, washer/dryer, and closed off bedroom with full bath/shower. I was hardly able to enjoy all the amenities in a single night's stay, but I was impressed and the space was very clean. My only suggestion is that the shower/bath get updated, since it has a sliding door that's a bit...

"The property is older, has smaller rooms, worn public spaces and not special but charges like it’s the a brand new Ritz or Four seasons. It does not deserve the four stars. "
