"The room was meant to be soundproof but could hear next door for starters, then we seen it wasn’t a king size bed but two single beds put together which wasn’t very comfortable to say the least. Also two of the rooms I’d say are used for permanent residence. Then passing pedestrians through the night was noisy was irritating to say the least. We couldn’t work the heating system for the room. "

"Last minute booking as decided to stay overnight in York. Communication for check in was quick, property was easy to find, close to town and super clean and tidy. Had a relaxing stay and would definitely consider again next time we were in York. Small supermarket and Mrs Greedy’s at end of road was excellent for supplies and a quick cooked breakfast. "

"Nice rooms. Bathroom too small for me unfortunately. Pub looks a bit tired and could do with a makeover. Steps to rooms are metal fire escape outside at the back but treads not deep enough so be careful walking down them. Good atmosphere."

"1. Positives: great location, reasonable breakfast, good sized family room with 2 decent beds, friendly and helpful staff 2. Negatives: not well noise insulated: heard all the traffic at night; ridiculously small shower ( got hurt in it on handrail - just why? there was space for a larger shower cubicle in the bathroom); limited car parking and £25 extra and not guaranteed."

"Booked an ensuite room but my room didn't have a bathroom and had to use the shared bathrooms. No staff was on site and had to call to check in. Opening the door to the room requires one hand to turn the electronic lock and the other hand to turn the doorknob. This is inconvenient when you're carrying stuff in your hand."

Toutefois, la chambre que nous avons eu était minuscule, peu confortable et extrêmement mal isolée, ce qui fait que tous les soirs, nous entendions les gens dans les autres chambres ou qui bavardaient dans le corridor,. "We stayed in the Bootham suite, the room was light and airy and had a lovely small balcony to enjoy the sunshine. The four poster bed was very comfy and there was a small seating area to relax in. Breakfast was very good, everything is a la carte and the staff were very attentive. The hotel is in a great location, very easy walking distance into York but also very quiet and peaceful. The Pantry is a really nice touch but it was a shame that there wasn't a fridge in the room to keep drinks cool....

"We loved our stay here! Clean and had a great sleep. Brilliant price for somewhere to stay close to York. Carpark was a little full and some bad parking meant it was a space down, but not the owners fault. Highly recommend for an affordable cute little getaway! Would definitely return"
