It's an old house so it has lots of imperfections, but we rather enjoyed the charm and the character; it doesn't have to be perfect and new for us to enjoy. You're basically in a house with some other couples, so the setting lends itself to lots of friendly chatter over breakfast (and Oh! What a Breakfast Lilia makes!!!), and quiet, peaceful relaxation.
