"Matauzakaya Honten was such an amazing experience and location to stay. The staff were all incredibly friendly and the entire place had a very inviting atmosphere. I had a room with an open air onsen, and the staff walked me through all the amenities available to me. From how to work the onsen to a brief tour and history of the property, all the way to the free items and beverages they have, as well as the rooms where you can play games or relax with other guests.

"Amazi location, beautiful view, and very friendly and respectful staff. They take their roles very seriously and want to deliver a wonderful and authentic experience for you. The ensuite onsen in the room balcony was absolutely incredible. I spent hours in there! The food was amazing. The breakfast buffet was delicious, but the dinners in the dining hall in the annex were absolutely amazing"

"While the service and location were both excellent, I was disappointed to be put in the dog wing literally. I didn’t book a dog room. Don’t have a dog. Chose this hotel for views which were on the east wing our room was in the west aka dog wing.
Spa service was fantastic! Onsen experience was super relaxing.
All good except for being with dogs!"

"This is more than a hotel, it's like being in a dream of relaxation and beauty. From the moment we arrived, the staff were so welcoming and accommodating. Our room in the annex was gorgeous with every amenity we could have asked for, the tub was perfect, and breakfast in the morning was delicious. As we soaked and in the morning during breakfast, we gazed out on the mountains as the storm passed, and it was like being in a beautiful film. I can't compare this hotel to anywhere else I've...
