"The room was a good size with a nice bathroom - all very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good but the restaurant is fairly small and so it can get very busy. Staff were very helpful and made me feel very welcome. The only slight issue was with the lift - it’s a fairly busy hotel with 40+ floors and just 3 lifts. This did mean a fair amount of waiting on lifts but I guess it can’t be helped given the size of the building. All in all - a good stay. Would recommend."

"Stayed in room 4012 and just the overall feel is outdated. My buddie was in 3909 and his tv stand Was falling apart. Elevator make so crazy sounds. Just old and outdated type of place"

"Loved my stay! The coffee shop, rooftop bar, club, all the amenities were wonderful. Hotel was beautiful, I went with the higher floor and did not regret it. Would book again and again."

"The property was clean, and well maintained. The staff were firendly and helpful. The amenities left a little to be desired. The entertainment (TV) system was from 2008, and some features (Googlecast specifically) failed to work. Though I understand that's not why people come to the Theater District, it's still suboptimal. Finally, I fully recognize space is at a premium, but the gap between the sink and shower door was VERY small (as was the bathroom). This was highly inconvenient. "

"We always stay at the New Yorker when we are in New York, whether for business or for pleasure. The hotel is convenient for us for our business and for attending theatre and restaurants in the theatre district. The price is good for the value. The least expensive rooms are rather small; but some of their rooms are large with a refrigerator. The building is older but renovated. So it has the advantage of larger windows and high ceilings. Ask for corner rooms to get more windows. The staff is very friendly and helpful. And there are many restaurants and stores in easy walking distance."

"Room was not the cleanest. Bathroom was dirty with hair. The picture on the wall wasn’t wiped down and there was splashes of substance on it.There was trash behind the ottoman in the bedroom. The bedsheets on one of the beds had some type of substance on it and some other dirty marks. "

"So you save a dollar a day by making the soap , shampoo, and conditioner squirt tiny drops at a time but by the time a guest has stood there for several minutes pumping and pumping just to get enough to wash their hair, you've more than lost it in guest perception of the hotel. Not to mention the likely cost of the water, just standing there pumping. It feels very much like the sort of thing where you pinched a penny but helped your guest in the eye, leaving them with a very sour perception of the hotel."
