"The Genting was always a favourite stopover when traveling through England as it breaks up the trip from London to Yorkshire. The hotel is still quite nice compared to others in the area but doesn’t seem to have been maintained to the high standards it once was. The spa experience was still great, however the outdoor spa was not working and I had to share the pool experience with the cleaning crew at 7am. "As of June '26, the hotel is very newly refurbished (ongoing in some areas). The room was immaculatly clean and spacious, bedding very comfortable. The hotel is easy walking distance to NEC halls, and not far to the train station and airport, but tucked away so quieter than many other hotels on the campus, which we liked. There were only a few disappointments: on arrival we were told a "plumbing problem" meant our room was unavailable so we were sent to the nearby Ibis hotel for the first night...
