"Very spacious and homey. Room was clean and the onsen was great overlooking mt fuji. Cons, the check out time is too early, you must leave at 10 am which is worst when you come with kids"

" We visited Japan for the first time and stayed for a month. We stayed two nights at this hotel. Wished we had stayed longer. We stayed in 4 star hotels and this one was by far the best. The cable car trip where you see Mt Fuji was the highlight of our entire Japan visit The food was outstanding. We celebrated my wife’s birthday with a special pass to the guest lounge that had an amazing view and complimentary wine and snacks. "

"Hotel de Yama was great. This place has a real mountain lodge feel to it. It is remote and very quiet but within a mile of fun activities. It was the perfect lay-over between the hustle and bustle of Kyoto and the hugeness of Tokyo. The rooms were nice. The restaurants were both great. The grounds were amazing, especially the garden. The staff was super helpful. And the onsen was next level - so relaxing. Would come back to this place in a heartbeat"

"Cet hébergement compte quatre chambres à l'étage. La mienne était propre mais vieillotte (avec 2 lits simples + 1 lit plié contre le mur). Le confort est minimal, la salle de bain n'a aucun chauffage. L'établissement était fermé (non accessible pour les clients) entre 11h et 15h, et on est loin des lieux animés de Hakone. Le propriétaire donne volontiers des conseils. Globalement, je trouve que le prix est très élevé pour la prestation fournie."

"This hotel was good-hearted and the food was Japanese artistry. It is an older property and has a very “mountain lodge” kind of feel. The food was interesting but challenging for an unadventurous North American eater. It goes well beyond sushi to escargot and tiny octopi (squids?) over cucumber and a miso sauce. I was impressed with the look of this but I am weak on seafood and so it wasn’t that easy to eat. I expect that it is very seasonal and probably changes to make sure the food is the...

"We loved our stay! The room was quiet and comfortable. We loved the public baths and breakfast (we didn't have dinner with our room). The staff was very welcoming. There's also a shuttle from the hotel down to the bus stop in Motohakone or it's an easy 15 min walk. "

"Fabulous beautiful location by the lake, convenient to public transport and easy views of Mount Fuji. It’s a brand new hotel with many amenities, good size room, exceptionally attentive staff plus the owner is incredibly nice and offers all kinds of tours. They also have vilas with private Onsen which we definitely will try next time! "
