"Very spacious and homey. Room was clean and the onsen was great overlooking mt fuji. Cons, the check out time is too early, you must leave at 10 am which is worst when you come with kids"

"Hotel de Yama was great. This place has a real mountain lodge feel to it. It is remote and very quiet but within a mile of fun activities. It was the perfect lay-over between the hustle and bustle of Kyoto and the hugeness of Tokyo. The rooms were nice. The restaurants were both great. The grounds were amazing, especially the garden. The staff was super helpful. And the onsen was next level - so relaxing. Would come back to this place in a heartbeat"

"Cet hébergement compte quatre chambres à l'étage. La mienne était propre mais vieillotte (avec 2 lits simples + 1 lit plié contre le mur). Le confort est minimal, la salle de bain n'a aucun chauffage. L'établissement était fermé (non accessible pour les clients) entre 11h et 15h, et on est loin des lieux animés de Hakone. Le propriétaire donne volontiers des conseils. Globalement, je trouve que le prix est très élevé pour la prestation fournie."

"This hotel was good-hearted and the food was Japanese artistry. It is an older property and has a very “mountain lodge” kind of feel. The food was interesting but challenging for an unadventurous North American eater. It goes well beyond sushi to escargot and tiny octopi (squids?) over cucumber and a miso sauce. "We loved our stay! The room was quiet and comfortable. We loved the public baths and breakfast (we didn't have dinner with our room). The staff was very welcoming. There's also a shuttle from the hotel down to the bus stop in Motohakone or it's an easy 15 min walk. "

"Fabulous beautiful location by the lake, convenient to public transport and easy views of Mount Fuji. It’s a brand new hotel with many amenities, good size room, exceptionally attentive staff plus the owner is incredibly nice and offers all kinds of tours. They also have vilas with private Onsen which we definitely will try next time! "

"The location is beautiful, amazing views but the hotel is a bit old. We went to Hakone to relax and spend a night enjoying the onsen but we weren’t unable to get in due to having tattoos something that the website should have in more details instead of having it in the small print. The tv was only in Japanese so we couldn’t watch tv. The elevator was not working we had to carry 3 luggage down 3 floors and the sign on it was only in Japanese and I touch the bottom an it shocked me. I was very...
