"This looks a grand hotel, the arrival departure whilst busy was fine, staff throughout are very friendly and polite. Breakfast was plentiful, restaurants fine one night I dined in. Service is great, loved spa treatments so much, would love to give it 5 stars for the staff and service but it’s still seemingly going through an upgrade. It just feels a bit dated in parts, marks and lumps missing on walls, old decor etc."

So hot and uncomfortable without it but I realise that this is possibly not the norm for the hotel. Staff of course were powerless. Front of house staff (doorman) was a little rude to us on arrival which surprised me. Other staff were lovely. No water in room. No bathroom amenities other than a shower cap. "We had a delightful one night stay at the Rubens, centrally located right across from Buckingham Palace’s Royal Mews or stables. The hotel is beautifully decorated and the breakfast was served in a gorgeous room with booths and chandeliers. We were traveling with our teen son so the suite with a pull out couch made it a high value fit for us so we could stay in one room. The room decoration was festive and royal feeling. The sweet baked goods were a pleasant surprise. Would definitely stay here...

"Even though check in is at 3pm, our room was not ready when I came in at 4 pm...had to put in repeated requests since I had a wedding dinner to attend and then the person at the front desk gave me an alternate room, which was rather tiny for 2 people. They do provide a drink voucher in lieu of forgoing housekeeping, which is a nice touch"

"Horrible. Do not stay here. No air conditioning and they didn't even give us water in 98 degrees Fahrenheit /37 degrees Celsius heat! Absolutely miserable. We were not able to sleep at all because of how hot it was and we got sick because of it. This ruined the rest of our vacation. If they do not have air conditioning accommodations, they need to make that abundantly apparent on their Expedia profile. Do not stay here if you want to have a comfortable stay. "I loved how close it was to the train station. Rooms were clean and beds very comfy. Having a fridge in the room was good kept juice cold. Staff were outstanding happy to help in any way. Would definitely recommend ti any looking for stay in London."
