Rooms are very dated. We had issues with lights, many plugs didn’t work, and the heat wouldn’t turn off. Great location, shabby hotel.

The staff went over and above to accommodate your every need. We even got a a private tour of the facility, which has a lot of historic value to it and was used during World War II as as British headquarters for MI5 and MI6 and used by Churchill for his headquarters. The breakfast in the restaurant was an amazing buffet. The one thing I ask is that they carry cash t make change for guests. They are trying to be cashless, but they're on the bleeding edge.

We stayed on the Garden side of the hotel. It was a very nice room. The staff were wonderful and helpful. The room was very quiet from street noise and the view from the 4th floor was nice, overlooking the river and The Eye. There was a lot of happy but noisy young people in the early nighttime hours in the Garden, but that didn't bother us. The only major issue we had was a lack of hot water on the weekend. It might be warm for a minute and then went cold. We didn't have any problems on the week days.

This hotel is in a great location. Super easy access to the underground. Quiet area at night. Staff was very friendly. We felt welcomed! Late night bar was a plus after a long day of walking!

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the friendliest staff and were impressed with the hotel's architecture and location. The hotel is conveniently located right near the Embankment Station, as well as very walkable to many sight seeing activities. We had the London Eye and an array of pubs, restaurants, and shopping within a short distance: the Palace was a 20-minute walk away (and a lovely walk through London's beautiful buildings and parks), Big Ben, Abbey, and Parliament were only a 10-minute walk. The hotel is beautiful, and our room was lovely. This trip was for myself and my 10-year-old, and I upgraded us to a room with a view of the river in the London Eye and have no regrets - it really added to our experience to be able to see the London city lights and the London Eye from our room. After a long day of walking and activities, we really enjoyed relaxing in our room and having access to the gym and hotel restaurants. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the London area, especially for tourist activities. I would absolutely stay here again and again.

Nice hotel, well situated near the tube and all sights. Service was a bit miss and hit. We were surrounded by a marathon but there was no information about the consequences like: how to go to the tube. One doorman was friendly but I had to open the door for my wife and others. Bit weird.

Breakfast was cold and unpalatable. The room was cold but they provided a space heater. Front desk staff and concierge were EXCELLENT! Housekeeping was very good also.

A beautiful hotel. Our room was huge and comfortable. The pillows are very dense but honestly my neck felt great every morning. We lived the luxurious robes and huge bath sheets. Dining was delicious. Location is good. Near trafalgar and embankment. We had a problem with the bathroom plumbing that didn’t seem to concern anyone - while it wasn’t critical it was annoying this the reason for four stars vs five

The hotel was in a great location. Beautifully maintained. The staff were attentive and friendly. The breakfast buffet was delicious. Can’t wait to go back!!

We love the Royal Horseguards Hotel. Have stayed here several times. The price point reflects its position as a full-service property in a prime location, with a restaurant, bar & tea room. We were surprised by the worn condition of the elevators and mid-tier rooms during our March 2026 stay. More off-putting was an aggressive push to upgrade room at check-in — the hotel manager appeared in person to inform us that only two upgraded rooms remained so they “needed” the revenue & could not comp those rooms to returning guests. That kind of hard sell is at odds with the caliber of hotel this aims to be, and left us wondering whether the property is in decline. That said, the staff is genuinely delightful. The rooms were immaculately clean, with plenty of large fluffy towels and magnifying mirror in the bathroom. The small touches throughout speak to the quality of service as well: we consistently find complimentary water & light refreshments in the refrigerator upon arrival — a simple gesture, but one that sets a welcoming tone and reflects genuine attention to the guest experience. The in room coffee/tea service has a Nespresso and milk. The breakfast is excellent and worth adding on— the buffet is luscious, but there’s more to offer à la carte if you can secure the attention of a waitstaff person. If your schedule allows a full English tea, or just a cream tea in the lounge: we find it a fun highlight and do recommend it. These strengths are the reason we keep returning.

Wish that the kitchens were open longer as it can be hard to find food after a show at night. The site was clean and staff was very friendly. The premium room offered complementary mini bar which was greatly appreciated. The room was very nice overall with just a few condition issues (I.e. chipped paint/furniture, etc) which is to be expected in my opinion. Great location as well within easy walking distance of many of the main attractions.
