"Found the place expensive £7 a pint, and £13.50 for a breakfast, which we didn’t bother with.Also the room I paid for double room with an extra single bed, had been given to someone else, which by the way I had phoned up two days previous to verify I had.Staff I spoke too were nice, but I would never go back there."

The bathroom had a strong moldy smell, and there was visible mold on the ceiling, which is completely unacceptable—especially with kids. The overall hygiene was poor. "Lovely hotel staff polite and friendly checking in, our room was very small and a bit tired looking with some of the fittings looking a bit grubby and tatty and some marks on the wall, The bar and restaurant area were very nice and our breakfast was excellent. I would recommend going for an upgraded room hopefully a bit larger than ours."

"In a lovely historic building set within pleasant grounds, especially as the wisteria was in flower. Very helpful staff, lovely room and comfortable bed. The breakfast was perhaps a little disappointing- dry basic with little choice of healthy cereal or cooked food if you are vegetarian. Overall very good though."

"The shower hardly worked, it had a large shower head but water only came out of a handful of the holes and there was no hot water no matter how much the settings were adjusted so ended up washing my hair in the sink! The bed was uncomfortable and so had a really poor nights sleep. The only coffee in the room was for the nespresso machine, would have been nice to have a choice of capsules and instant coffee sachets. The pub and restaurant were very nice but I wouldn’t stay again unfortunately "

"Lovely 3 night stay. Staff all very polite and helpful. Room was clean bathroom is rather small but was ok for a short break. Breakfast was great so many choices and not always the same every morning. Thank you :)"
