"Been staying at the Whitney Peak Hotel for more than twenty years. It has gone downhill recently - probably related to the Hilton purchase. Some of the staff seem to be out-to-lunch. Asked for a restaurant recommendation and was directed to Denny's. Not OK. The Whitney Peak is still the only hotel in Reno I am aware of that does not have a casino and does not allow smoking. "Bit of a mixed experience here. The staff were pretty friendly and helpful. The room however was a bit less clean than expected and desired. From the photos online i was a bit disappointed. The carpet was pretty dirty and full of cigarette holes even in a nonsmoking room, the bathtub was scratched up and there was an old shampoo cap or something left in there, also soap dispensers full of ancient dried up soap that do not work. "EXPEDIA SHOULD NOT RECOMMEND A HOTEL WHILE THERE IS RENOVATION GOING ON. Terrible property to spend a night. Small room, very inadequate bathroom and shower. It’s next to the highway, more like a truck stop so many 18 wheelers, construction material visible, dumpster and pallets, not a safe location. If you need a clean, safe and comfortable check it out before booking. Doesn’t deserve more than 1 star."

The sink faucet was so loose felt like turning on the water would rip the faucet off its brackets. The TP holder was broken. Was a good price but everything was cheaply made and breaking."
