"Great stay for 6 days nights. Great friendly staff and the food and beer are solid. Fabalous view of lake arenal. The grounds are hilly and steep in some places, but couple of very nice trails. Lots of animals: dogs, cows, goats etc which for me is always welcome. The owner J.P. is a riot and great to talk to. Wealth of knowledge about the area and Costa Rica in general. "

"Location is about 20–25 minutes from downtown. The space is cozy and suitable for a family of four, and the balcony is very nice. However, there was an ongoing odor in the room, and the bathroom had a strong smell, which affected our overall comfort. "

"We absolutely loved our time at Amalu Monteverde. We stayed in the Black Haus and it was superb. The view is stunning and the property is designed to make the most of it with wall to ceiling windows and a great sun deck. We really enjoyed the hot tub (not normally our thing) while the sun was setting and knew that this was one of those places we would never forget and for all the right reasons.
