Having laundry on-site was a huge plus for refreshing our gear after beach days, and being so close to local shops made grabbing daily essentials a breeze. It’s a rare find that feels both high-end and totally relaxed—we’re already planning our return!"

"We had the private villa with the balcony . The place it self is nice with an ocean view. The bar is only open until 9 which is a downer but the drinks are reasonable priced. It is a 5 minute walk from the airport so no need for a taxi to get to and from which I liked. Right by the beach which was nice. You can tell the property is older but it is nice and quiet. They have cats and roosters on the property. Seem like the island is known for that, they don’t bother anyone tho. "

"We stayed here for several nights. It's a beautiful location and the view out of room was gorgeous! The only caution is the number of steps to get to your room, unless you have one of those along the shore. I didn't realize that when I booked the hotel - I chose this for the most reasonable price for a room with a view! A few days before our stay, the hotel sent me an email notifying me of the steps and that no porter help is available. Their advice was good and much appreciated. Had I...

"The room was very clean and had great amenities. The staff were incredibly friendly. The space is beautiful and charming. Bartender and Restaurant staff were exceptional and the food was amazing. My only piece of feedback would be to add some lounge chairs near the pool. But next time I come back to St Thomas there is no doubt I’m staying at Hotel 1829! "

"What a tropical paradise! We were blown away by Hideaway! If you are looking for a private, family or couple getaway, this is the best place around! The simplicity might be a little less than what some want, but the stay met every one of our needs. The environment was beautiful and the beach was our favorite on the island! "Everything was perfect at the St. John Inn! Karen was lovely and a friendly host. The room and property was clean and welcoming, and we really appreciated the amenities they offered. The free breakfast and pool was a huge bonus! Also we loved seeing Bob and the other cats on the property. We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit St. John. "
