The room we were given smelled like someone had smoked (in a non-smoking room), as we found this very irritating we asked for a different room and were told none are available, instead a room spray was sprayed to mask the smell. "Good location, excellent service, and a truly commendable breakfast highly. Rooms very quiet, despite the hotel being in the centre of Edinburgh. The rooms can be a bit on the small side, and having the hand wash basin in the hall is somewhat eccentric."

"Great central location - most sights were about 10-20 min away walking. We booked a small room but the bed was comfortable, beautiful large window with a great view and lovely decor. The downstairs bar/lounge area was super comfy and the perfect spot to grab breakfast, a drink, dessert or play a board game. Highly recommend!"

"This a perfect hotel if you want to be in the new town and are a close walk to everything. The hotel does require you to be able to use technology to check in but each room has everything you will need. The lounge was filled with a coffee bar and fresh pastries and place to rest. The room just felt cozy but professional."

The hotel staff said that they reached out through Expedia to send us at least two separate messages talking about the soccer game and that we would not have parking. "The hotel is very well positioned on the beautiful Charlotte Square. It truth the hotel, compared with when I stayed there a few years ago, was a bit run down and even grubby. Needs a spot of paint and quite a lot more - rather disappointing."

"The Point A was a short walk from the Haymarket station, which was quite convenient. The beds were very comfortable and bathrooms well appointed. The only drawback was the size of the rooms, which are pretty tight. Would not recommend for someone with a lot of luggage! Otherwise a great place with excellent staff."
