"Very comfortable room & bed. Superb meals in the elegant Carrier drawing room. Slight downside in that we were kept waiting to sign in. Disappointing that mostly the flowers on display were artificial, despite having a cut-flower garden outside."

"We had a lovely stay at The Ship Inn. The room was really clean, bright and comfortable and plenty of space to relax in. Nice to have good quality coffee and tea facilities in the room and reasonably priced items on offer in room if you wanted it. Loved the roomy shower in the bathroom. Staff were really friendly and helpful (helped find a taxi). Food in the bar was excellent, and the main menu looked great (we will try next time). "If you are looking for the best of what a traditional British guesthouse should be, look no further. The room and communal areas are spotless. The towels and linen are fresh and look New. Building is well 19. The refreshments in the room could be no better, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Then we come to breakfast. Perfection. And to top it all exceptionally good value. ospotless"

"I booked late in the day but staff were very welcoming on check in. Clean, warm and comfy room. Great pub attached and Excellent breakfast. Location is ideal right at the top of a busy high street but noise wasn't an issue during the stay."
